Editorial Services
Content Editing
Does your manuscript or document need a quick polish, a serious dusting, or a top-to-bottom deep cleaning? Request a light, medium, or heavy copyedit. Here's what to expect from each level:
Light: Check basic spelling, grammar, facts, and style. Suggest minor rewrites as needed. If it’s not broken, leave it alone. Commonly used for: marketing materials and résumés.
Medium (aka “line editing”): Light plus more extensive rewording, fact-checking, and trimming. It may not be broken, but it could work a bit better. Commonly used for: book manuscripts, short stories, essays, magazine articles, and white papers.
Heavy (aka “developmental”): Assess and discuss narrative arc, plot, and characters, plus medium-level copyediting as requested. Suggest substantive revisions if needed. Commonly used for: early drafts of book manuscripts, short stories, or magazine articles.
Content Strategy
Does your website need a fresh, consistent voice? Are you thinking about next quarter’s editorial calendar, wondering if you have the right mix for your audience? Request an editorial strategy session—or ongoing strategic consultation—to raise the bar for how you present your product, service, or creative vision to the world.
Résumé Editing
Want to put your best face forward? Request a résumé edit to rid your CV of typos, rogue commas, dangling modifiers, passive verbs, and other barriers to making a great first impression.
Writing
Looking for a widely read, enthusiastic, articulate, and highly opinionated (but never snarky—well, almost never) book reviewer? Would an insightful Q&A with an author, CEO, or subject matter expert enhance your website, publication, or annual report? Request a review or interview. Clips available here. Please note that all book reviews are based solely on my professional opinion and must be published in a legitimate literary outlet; requests for customer reviews or anonymous reviews are not accepted.
